Scope and Content
The Women's Engineering Society was founded in 1919 to promote the study and practice of engineering among women. Dame Caroline was the first Organizing Secretary of the Women's Engineering Society from its foundation in 1919 to 1929, and also founded and edited its journal, The Women Engineer. She organized a conference of women distinguished in science, industry and commerce as part of the British Empire Exhibition in 1925. She became President of the Women's Engineering Society in 1941.
