Deed of Covenant of Richard Collett with the Secretary of State for India agreeing to serve 3 years as Superintendent of the station at Singapore in connection with the laying of the telegraph cable from Singapore to Rangoon, with correspondence concerning the deposit.
In addition to Collett, the document has been signed by Sir Henry Conyngham Montgomery, second baronet (1803-1878) and Elliot Macnaghten (1807-1888), (Member of the Supreme Court in Calcutta, Vice President of the Council of India and Chairman of the East India Company in 1855), who were two members of the Council of India.
