Some of the Federations are better represented than others, depending on how much material came to the IEE from the liquidators. For example, the IEE holds no records of the Midlands Area Federation; only a few files and volumes came from the liquidators and these were transferred to local record offices. The records mainly consist of volumes of minutes and accounts and some membership registers. There are also some files of programmes, correspondence and notes sent by the branches to the EAW council, and remarks by the EAW council on the state of the branch - these are noted in the list as central administration files. Files relating to branches which closed before the dissolution of the EAW in 1986 are noted as central administration and closure files.
