Six manuscript reports by Musgrave Heaphy, electrical engineer for the Phoenix Fire Office. The installations were risk insured by the Sion Fire Office but Heaphy acted on behalf of several fire offices. Heaphy's first report states: 'This is the first time that Electricity has been tried for the purpose in this country. It may not perhaps be necessary for me to state that when Electricity was used to produce scenic effects in the Star Theatre, New York last year that it set the scenery on fire.'
